Abstract
M.Phil. (Human Resource Development)
Does a relationship exist between the leadership derailer risks, or patterns of behaviour, identified in the Hogan Development Survey (HDS) and the observations made by colleagues in the 360-degree feedback report? To answer this question, 149 participants from a professional services firm (61 women and 88 men, mean age = 34.34 years) were identified after completing both the HDS and 360-degree feedback report between 2010 and 2013. The level of similarity of the comments made by their colleagues in the 360-degree feedback reports were rated and compared to the key words used to describe the derailer risks identified in the HDS. The results are discussed in terms of the scores for each participant on each of the 11 derailer risks provided by their HDS reports.
