Which burning issues exist in the recruitment of learners as perceived by the principals of two secondary schools in Nzhelele West circuit office? How can these burning issues be addressed? The method envisaged in order to research the problem of learner recruitment will now be discussed. Selecting a paradigm. Qualitative research methods will be used in this study so as to allow the researcher to "share" in the understanding and perceptions of others and explore how people structure and give meaning to their daily lives (Stevens, 1993 : 66). In addition, qualitative data are sources of well founded, rich descriptions and "explanations of processes" occurring in local context (Miles & Huberman,1984 :12)
