About Mzwake Mbuli:
The musician and political activist Mzwakhe Mbuli has played an essential role in the musical culture of South Africa before and after the fall of the apartheid government. His poetry and music were a crucial part of the cultural movement in the last years of South Africa under apartheid. During this time his clairvoyant and relatable lyrics earned him the moniker “People’s Poet” from some of his followers. He is a household name who has captured audiences worldwide. In 2014 he was appointed as an Interpol Ambassador, as part of a campaign on “turn back crime – Anti Piracy” activist. He is the co-founder of Crown gospel Awards and Siyabakhumbula Awards.
