Abstract
Supply Chain 5.0 has emerged as a new paradigm in supply chain management, combining advanced digital technologies with human-centric and sustainability-driven principles. For small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), this approach is particularly significant, as it offers pathways to resili-ence, competitiveness, and sustainable growth while addressing challenges such as financial constraints, digital readiness gaps, and workforce skills shortages. This article presents the landscape of Supply Chain 5.0 development in the SME context. It presents a systematic bibliometric literature review that de-scribes the evolution of the concept and identifies the dominant themes, influen-tial authors, institutions, and countries contributing to the discourse. The study highlights the rapid increase in publications since 2019, reflecting the growing importance of Supply Chain 5.0 in academic and practical debates. Key find-ings emphasise the role of technological enablers such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and IoT, alongside organisational readiness and leadership com-mitment, in shaping SME adoption. We also propose a conceptual model for SMEs Supply Chain 5.0 and outline a research agenda to address gaps in sec-toral adaptation, sustainability integration, and co-innovation ecosystems. Prac-tical implications for managers and policymakers are discussed, underscoring the need for collaborative strategies to empower SMEs in building resilient and sustainable value networks.
