Abstract
Nigerian border history has recorded the rise of the Battle of Kinasara, the legal battle for the authentic owner of the Bakassi Penisula, international banditry, influx and outflow of terror militants as well as the brutal activities of gendarmes in the Franco-phone border areas. The paper used qualitative methodology to outline the multi-dimensional peace building strategies as the road map to improved border security and politics with the Nigerian neighbours. It found that the Nigerian state has engaged in a number of crisis with neighbouring communities and recommended multidimensional peacebuilding strategies that would promote bilateral and multilateral relations between the country and their neighbours thereby enhancing multilateral relations.
