Abstract
An increasing global population necessitates finding alternative housing solutions. A suitable housing solution is siting future cities on the ocean surface. These cities have subscribers who require network connectivity. This necessitates the need to design communication networks for floating city subscribers. The discussion in this paper presents the network architecture for a floating city network suited for floating city subscribers. The network architecture of a floating city network is presented. The research presents the architecture and computing entities required to realize cloud computing capability in the proposed network architecture. In addition, the presented research proposes new role for networking architecture in the context of the blue economy and the realization of future human living spaces.
