Abstract
To better understand the required intervention to enhance employee engagement in the workplace and the effectiveness of personnel safety training, a quantitative research approach was used in this paper, which examined the Nigerian manufacturing industry. The self-administered questionnaire for the survey portion of the research was created using the five-point Likert scale approach and utilized the "drop-off and pick-up" method to get the necessary data. This tool guarantees that the researcher's objectives are measured by the questionnaire and that it is simple to reproduce the results. To gather the necessary data for this study, a sample of 663 participants from 211 carefully chosen manufacturing workplaces, 196 of which were registered and 15 of which were not, was drawn from three state capitals in Nigeria: Ikeja (Lagos), Akure (Ondo), and Ibadan (Oyo state). The survey was assessed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences, version 26, correlation and multiple regression analytical techniques. Findings revealed that there is a huge positive impact 1 of personnel safety training on employee involvement and participation in the safety management of the workplace. Thus, the study recommended that stakeholders of the under-studied workplace must ensure the training of personnel and also carry them along in the design of safety policies, as this is proven to heighten their wilful involvement and participation in the safety management of the firm.
