Abstract
This article addresses an important – yet least investigated – problem
of ethics management outcomes at universities. It specifi cally addresses
outcomes to develop feeder and general competencies for management
positions in the public sector. The article covers issues, such as the
importance of ethics curricula for public management and the improving
teaching methodologies for ethics at postgraduate level for South Africa
universities. An ethics management educational model is also posited.
This model could be used to address and streamline ethics management
training at postgraduate level. Ethics management capacity training and
education at universities are complex issues. Therefore, it is diffi cult to
fi nd a clear-cut ethics-teaching model to recoup the management ethicstraining
backlog that has built up over years. For this reason, the ensuing
article advocates an integrated approach – instead of a parochial one – for
addressing ethics management skills.
