Abstract

alcohol misuse community Resilience Ubuntu
This qualitative study explores the contribution of Ubuntu philosophy to enabling resilient outcomes among university students raised by caregivers who misused alcohol in the Kingdom of Lesotho. Through interviews and visual methods, the study reveals that Ubuntu values empowered young adults to navigate adversity, highlighting two key themes: cultural obligation to care and generosity in improving well-being. The findings demonstrate the significance of Ubuntu in fostering resilience, encouraging universities and policymakers to integrate Ubuntu principles into support programs and policies, promoting a culture of sharing, caring, and solidarity.
