Abstract
The relationship between time orientation and achievement motivation. The aim of the study was to establish a method whereby achievement motivation and time orientation could be empirically linked within the framework of the 4- dimensional classification theory of human behaviour. These constructs were selected because of the assumed relationship which exists between them. The R-A Time Orientation Questionnaire of Augustyn and the Achievement Motivation Questionnaire of Pottas, Erwee, Boshoff and Lessing were administered to 350 experimental subjects to determine whether differences exist in the achievement motivation of individuals classified in different time orientations. The results confirmed that significant statistical differences in achievement motivation exist among individuals classified in the different time orientations.
