The University of Johannesburg (UJ) kicked off
the first
of three consecutive FNB Varsity
Cup home games with an
emphatic win over the Shimlas
at UJ Stadium in Westdene.
UJ (wearing the orange
kit) outran the men from Bloemfontein
scoring six tries
to one in beating the visitors
44-8. Their victory assured
they kept their playoff hopes
alive come the semifinals
on March 23. UJ take on Tukkies
at UJ Stadium on March 9 at
6.45pm, before playing their
final league game against the
Nelson Mandela Metropolitan
University (NMMU) in Port
Elizabeth on March 16.
