Abstract
The world of today is nearly borderless due to the crisis of globalization and continuous migration. This migration is carried out through regular or legal means and through irregular means. While those on regular and legal migration do not experience serious forms of challenges, those that enter another sovereign country without proper documentation face a lot of issues. This study focuses on the African diaspora. It used secondary materials to analyse the fate of African migrants within Norway and beyond. The paper which was interpreted using the theory of realism that advances national interest maintains that migration should be decided directly by the push and pull effect of the gains and losses that a country experiences due to the changing history of migration either as host or receiving country. The study found that the Norway-Somali relations have been influenced by the experiences of migrants and the study recommends the intervention of the African Union in promoting the documentation of Somali migrants and the promotion of good governance in Somalia in order to reduce the pressure of emigration from Somalia to Norway.
