Abstract
M.Phil.
The purpose of the essay was to describe the problem of resistance to
change and to identify factors that are involved in the initialisation of a paradigm shift.
In order to succeed in this objective, it was necessary to identify essential qualities that
a person need to have in the change process. It is clear that change is a complex and dynamic process. To reach their full potential,
people need to be aware of their negative beliefs, paradigms, attitudes and behaviour,
that might hinder personal growth. A paradigm shift can then be initiated which
involves appropriate beliefs, attitudes, thoughts and behaviour that will facilitate the
process of personal leadership.
