Abstract
The aim of this study was to identify the challenges faced in managing multiple projects in the construction industry and by adapting remote monitoring systems can mitigate the challenges presented by multi-project management. Challenges in managing multiple projects simultaneously, include resource scarcity and time and cost constraints. Remote monitoring methods therefore, present opportunities to overcome the challenges associated with multiple projects management. The study drew data from two case studies where remote monitoring and traditional research methods were used. The remote monitoring method utilised automated tools and programmes, which enable project managers to remotely monitor projects. Remote monitoring systems are aimed at optimally empowering the project managers to effectively and simultaneously monitor multiple, geographically dispersed projects in real-time mode using joint tools and human resources...
