Abstract
The environment is one of the most valuable resources we have that provides natural resources such as oil. Countries like Nigeria, and particularly the Niger Delta are full of such resources that attract the investment of multinational corporations. With such attention from multinational corporations, the environment in the Niger Delta has been suffering from the damage caused by oil extraction activities since multinational corporations like Shell have started operating in the area.
The harmful effects of such activities are causing a focus on the need for examining the environmental accountability of such corporations for their impact on the environment while pursuing environmental accountability.
