Abstract
As virtual training platforms are continuously adopted in education and training space post-COVID-19, it becomes important to assess their effectiveness. The aim of the study was to evaluate the impact of MS Teams as a virtual learning platform in enhancing employee skills retention and practical application in the workplace within a corporate training context. The Kirkpatrick model was used as a theoretical and conceptual framework. One hundred and thirty-four (134) employees participated in this cross-sectional quantitative study. Data were collected using an online survey. SmartPLS-SEM software was applied to analyse data. The results from the second-order structural equation modelling analysis showed significant relationships between all four levels of the Kirkpatrick model (Reaction, Learning, Behaviour, Results) with MS Teams training effectiveness. The participants endorsed Reaction strongly, followed by Learning, Result, and Behaviour in decreasing magnitude. The findings will help the company improve the effectiveness of MS Teams training by ensuring that employees not only complete the training but also retain and apply the skills effectively post-training.
