Abstract
The study describes the experiences of Community Development Workers in implementing the development projects during COVID-19 at Blouberg Municipality, Limpopo. The aim of the study is to highlight the experiences of CDWs in relations to their engagements with communities, households and individuals during lockdown restrictions. The study exposes the challenges relating to risks, resources and experience of the CDWs. The social development theory was used as theoretical framework to integrate the experiences of the participants with data collection methods. The population and sampling criteria were followed to select the matching and relevant participants. The study used qualitative methods through semi-structured interviews and presented the findings. The study presents the results derived from the discussion and analysis of the data with the research findings. The challenges, experiences, roles and responsibilities of CDWs, resources, opportunities and alternatives explored by the community development workers are presented. The chapter summarised the findings involving integration of the objectives with themes and theory, conclusions, recommendations, implication for policy. The recommendations, implication for policy and future research are drawn from the literature with suggestions drawn from the experience of the researcher’s interaction with the participants and beyond.
