The aims of this study on "The Authority of the Principal and Effective School
Management" are:
To determine perceptions on the authority of the principal within the Gauteng
province.
To establish whether the South African Schools Act (Act No. 84 of 1996) and
the Gauteng Schools Act support the authority of the principal.
To determine and recommend possible solutions to the re-establishment of the
authority of the principal and effective school management.
