Abstract
M.Comm.
The subject of the study is an empirical investigation into a possible correlation
between service quality perceptions and relationship quality perceptions amongst
parents of an independent school in Gauteng. Although it is important to acknowledge
that focusing on only one independent school may present some limitations, the
reasons for doing so, are explained in the study.
As a result of increased competition amongst independent schools in South Africa, it
is becoming increasingly important that the perceptions of parents regarding service
quality in the school are taken into account as part of the strategic planning process.
A customer-orientation towards service quality will assist the school to build
relationships with parents that will enhance the success of the independent school.
