Abstract
Natural products extracted from plants have increasing significance in health as well as drug discovery and development. Plants and their natural products play a significant role in providing alternative ways to treat a variety of diseases. These natural products / ‘neutraceuticals’ comprise, amongst others, of important biologically-active phenolics and antioxidants. B. pilosa is known for its medicinal and nutritional value owning to its rich phytochemical content. Plant metabolomics offers an avenue of comprehensive analysis, elucidation and characterisation of natural products.
