Abstract
Gynecological complaints are the most common disorders diagnosed in the female population in their reproductive years. These conditions have a negative impact on the quality of life and psychological well-being of the affected women. The most reported gynecological complaints among women during their reproductive years in this study are irregular menstrual cycle (21.1%), dysmenorrhea (10.5%), hot flushes (10.5%), uterine fibroids (10.2%), menopause (8.5%), pelvic inflammatory disease (5.3%) and infertility (5.3%). Polycystic ovarian syndrome, itching in the vagina, uterine polyps, dysmenorrhea with acne, dysmenorrhea with heavy menstruation, ovarian cyst, menopause with ovarian cyst, heavy menstruation, lamp in the breast, vaginal thrush and miscarriage follow closely with 2.6% respectively. Quality in healthcare is measured using the most common indicator known as ‘patient satisfaction’. The outcome of conducting patient satisfaction can yield patient retention and improvement of service delivery. Measuring patient satisfaction at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) Homeopathy Health Centre (HHC) may lead to the enhancement of daily efficiency and effectiveness, as well as increase profitability.
