Abstract
M.Com. (Industrial Psychology)
The purpose of this study is to develop a questionnaire which can be used to diagnose the functioning of organisations. To achieve this purpose a conceptual model based on a literature survey is firstly developed. A questionnaire covering the various dimensions
of this model is then drawn up. The questionnaire was completed by a sample of 413 people coming from a wide variety of organisations. The main dimensions of organisational behavior as measured by the questionnaire are isolated by means of factor and item analyses. It is found that the results of these analyses confirm the nature of the conceptual model to a hih extent. The questionnaire does not, however, succeed in identifying all of the subsystems of the model. To alleviate the shortcomings of this study, a number of recommendations for further research are made.
