Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore the function that contemporary jewellery occupies outside its traditional role as personal adornment. This will be achieved by producing work that encompasses clearly wearable and artistic elements—depending on how one interacts with the work—thus making it both personal adornment and an independent visual artefact. My study will also challenge traditional definitions of jewellery.
