Abstract
Insurance products in South African generally remain a luxury to which a large part of the population does not have access to. In an attempt to address this issue, the 2017 Insurance Act was promulgated to provide for the formal recognition of microinsurance products. The concept is aimed at the provision of insurance products which are more affordable and therefore ensure a certain extent of inclusivity within the insurance market.
