Abstract
This thesis aims to clarify opinion on the concept of Colonial alienation and its impacts in post-colonial sub-Saharan Africa in the literary works of Léonora Miano and Ahmadou Kourouma. From its Latin origin in the French dictionary, aliénation, alienare, means making foreigner (Larousse,2015,109). Indeed, according to Maison dieu, the concept refers to the state of someone who has a mental disorder, has lost his free will or the situation of someone who is dispossessed of what constitutes his essential being, his reason for being.
