Abstract
Background: Knowledge by workers on mine-related hazards and preventative measures to protect themselves from getting injured is ultimately cost effective for mine owners. Being aware of the sources of these hazards and the ability to apply preventive measures gives workers guarantee of safety and makes them productive employees. Objective: To assess the level of knowledge of workers of Dundee Precious Metals Tsumeb mining company on work-related hazards that have the potential to cause disability and their associated preventative measures. Methods: A cross-sectional design using quantitative methods, was used in this study. Stratified random sampling was used to select a total of 324 workers comprising both full and part time employees.
