Abstract
The purpose of this research was to look at the influence of municipal services on the
viability of small and micro enterprises in South Africa. The case study was the Dr Ruth
Segomotsi Mompati District Municipality. The core data for the research was gathered via
company surveys and discussions with local government officials. The research
discovered that municipal services have a direct and beneficial impact on the viability of
small and micro enterprises. As a result, it demonstrates the importance of towns carrying
out their constitutional role by concentrating on providing fundamental services to
communities and local businesses. Furthermore, the survey found that municipalities must
give financial assistance and encourage entrepreneurship in order to empower small and
micro enterprises. This is due to the reason that small enterprises have a critical role in
alleviating poverty and raising living standards.
