During the past few years, the world has come together to face the challenge created by energy consumption and energy efficiency problems. In order to achieve and overcome those challenges, researchers have focused on one of the most energy-demanding sectors worldwide, the Industrial sector, more specifically, the Foundry. South Africa electrification rate of 85.3% is higher than those of the world. Eskom and the government have an agreement is which a decrease of 15% in the real price of electricity was required during the period of 1994-2000.
