Abstract
An Agile approach to develop products has been increasingly used by various organisations. This could be due to the agile guidelines that simplify the process of developing a product, customer collaboration and satisfaction, less focus on processes and early product delivery. This resulted in the development of frameworks centred on Agile and includes the often used Scrum framework. It is a lightweight and easy to understand framework and adheres to Agile and aims to deliver increments rapidly to the customer in iterations. The main purpose of this study is to determine the Scrum best practice to improve sprint iteration. The problem statement to be studied is: Scrum is not practised as defined. Some companies do not apply Scrum appropriately in order to achieve improved sprint iterations and critical success factors. This results in these companies not receiving significant benefits from using Scrum, and ultimately missing the innovative and successful approach for product development. This resulted in two research questions; what is the best approach to practice Scrum to improve the sprint iteration? and what are the critical success factors to consider when practising Scrum?...
