Abstract
The non-fossil energy infrustructure for instant Solar PV Power Plant, Wind turbine, and the biomass is rapidly growing globally, Sub-Sahara and in Republic of South Africa and can be considered as a solution on energy expansion and network stability. Therefore, an intention in this research dissertation is pursuing and deliberating on a hypothesis to prove the financial feasibility and technical viability of a tracking solar harvesting methodology with 150 MWp nominal power to make electricity accessible and uplift the poverty-stricken rural areas. The research approach will deploy a Solar PV Power Plant facility consiting an integrated newest ideas of modules, conversion units, step-up power transformer, tracker mounting structures, and maximum power point tracking including PQ mitigation, as such system which will be applied as answer to improve quality of lives and make access to electricity for rural areas, hoever follow research medology as prescribed the university. The applied research method was to explore previous literature on related subject, deploy proposd technology, acquired data and perfom result analysis to check technical, environmental, socio-economic and financial viabilty. Reason for this proposed solution, is because rural areas have a vast challenge of balancing the aspirations of socio-economic development, electrical network instability, economic growth and global demand to reduce an adverse influence causing climate change. Therefore, results showed the benefit of managing Power Quality disturbance is to preserve the lifespan expect and efficiency of both utility and end-user equipment, which proves the technical viability of and emphasis that it prevent power failures and promote succesful implementation of this solution. Moreover, The financial model examination was done to justify financial bankability of this proposed infrastructure project as an addition mearsure to qualify this system a well thought solution. The overall dissertation is the feasibility investigation to a technically and financially viable of the proposed system and further show the probablility to enhance the quality of lives.
