Abstract
This study examined the needs and demands of the people that were neglected. This leaded them to have anger and believe that the only way to be heard by the government was through violent protests. As a result, even today people still believe that the only way their demands can be heard is through violent protests, which is vandalising of the government offices, burning of tyres, burning of libraries, and closing the roads. Yet the government officials in the municipalities continue to find strategies that will improve service delivery. This study analyses the procedures that can improve delivering of services which may lessen the unnecessary protests that are taking place at Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality. Furthermore, this research planned to educate the community on how to address issues without starting a violent protest. The study was led in the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality in East rand, Gauteng, South Africa. The study had participants which was, the Ward Council from different Ward in Thokoza and Katlehong at EMM. The other study participants were the community representative and members from these townships. The study concentrated on finding the reasons for vicious help conveyance fights and techniques to reduce protests at EMM. Discussion occurred at the workplaces of Ekurhuleni at Customer Care Centre (CCC) and endured around 20 to 25 minutes. The study had questionnaires that were used to conduct the interview. During the meetings, notes were taken, to assist the researcher with analysing the assembled information. During the conduction of the meeting, respondents were allowed to express their perspectives even in themes which were excluded from the examined aspects, which were mentioned in the questions. The study concluded that the strategic frameworks for service delivery assisted to enhance government services, also to reduce corruption in municipalities, which has been vital indicator of service delivery efficiency. These factors does not only affect service delivery, but also the citizens. The researcher recommend that they must be facilitation in community support in executing civil goals and in general goals of nearby government by showing an understanding of center metropolitan capacities as they relate to a ward committee setting and help of benefit conveyance from a ward committee setting using a context for implementing a strategic framework for service delivery.
