Abstract
Globalisation trends have become more dominant within the formal and informal work sectors, and as a result casualisation has become more distinctive. Well-paid permanent jobs have been replaced by temporary low-paid jobs, and this has globally resulted in the need for strategies to create financial stability and job security for those reliant on casual work. This can be seen particularly within the hospitality sector in which waitering forms a large part of employment, therefore issues relating to financial instability, labour flexibility, job security, and decent work are brought into question.
