Film making has been progressing gradually since its inception, hence it is vital to examine the process of film making and its production. Today, Netflix is one of the most outstanding innovative and profitable organisations due to its management in this fourth industrial revolution. However, most filmmakers in Zimbabwe lack managerial training and business expertise on how to run the operations of a film organization. This study employed theories like operations management, organisational structure and total quality management as strategies to conceptually strengthen the production management within the film industry of Harare, Zimbabwe.The problem statement is formulated based on the pilot study which identified the film industry as lacking knowledge of production management which is essential for making quality films for the sustainability of the industry. A mixed research method was used, in which the qualitative method was used for a descriptive and critical analysis of graphical data obtained from the quantitative approach. The purpose of this investigation was to explore methods of revitalizing filmmaking process through production management. Thus, the study could not depend on accumulating numbers of films produced only, but needed to discover solutions on most proficient mechanisms that could be developed to productively improve the operations of the Zimbabwean film industry. The study presented the analysis of data collected using tables, graphs, charts and combined responses from interviews into sub-topics. To achieve this, questionnaires were designed to expose the current operational activities, challenges and conceivable solutions for the industry. Primary data was gathered through questionnaires completed by filmmakers and audiences, and interviews were conducted with different film experts in the academic arena, government, and national film organisations, which gave all parties an opportunity to share their opinions on how to improve the industry. Both quantitative and qualitative data was then combined and analysed, together with the support of secondary data obtained from sources such as journals on the film industry.
