Abstract
This study evaluates digital integration influences of intergenerational reliance on digital communication tools for workplace productivity post COVID-19 in Lesotho, using a survey of 274 professionals around Maseru, Lesotho’s biggest city. The research found that digital integration does affect workplace productivity and the different digital communication tools do play a role in workplace productivity. The findings suggest that more organisations should integrate digitally to ensure greater productivity. The findings also suggest that less digital monitoring done by organisations can lead to further increased productivity in workplaces. Additionally, employees preferred using MS Teams, Zoom, Facebook and LinkedIn in their different workplaces. In conclusion, it was found that COVID-19 did increase the influence of digital integration in organisations, thus increasing workplace productivity.
The study used a quantitative methodology, using a snowball sampling technique to collect data from 274 participants from different professionals. The data was gathered through surveys. The key findings of the research showed that digital integration in workplaces did influence workplace productivity. There was a significant positive correlation between workplace productivity and the use of digital communication tools. The recommendations are that given that the world is increasingly becoming digitalised, organisations need to learn quickly and adapt to technological changes.
