This dissertation investigates different types of watermarking techniques that embed
watermarks into images and audio files. These watermarking techniques are
evaluated according to how robust each one is under manipulation. The effect
of each technique on the extracted watermark is investigated and it is determined
how well the watermarking technique resists manipulation. Certain watermarking
techniques result in high robustness in some cases, but show visible artefacts.
In some cases robustness is low, but image quality stays relatively close to the
original watermark.
