Abstract
The research topic explores the perceptions of educational psychologists regarding digital technology and its impact on learners with learning concessions within a selected private school. In recent years, the integration of modern digital technologies in education has gained significant momentum, transforming the learning landscape. Private schools, known for their resources and adaptability, are often early adopters of such technologies. However, while digital tools can enhance education, it remains unclear how they influence learners with learning concessions. The background to this research problem is grounded in the evolving role of technology in education and the growing importance of addressing the diverse needs of learners. Learners with concessions, such as those with learning disabilities or special educational needs, represent a significant and vulnerable group within the educational system.
The increasing dependence on digital technology in education necessitates a thorough examination of its effects on learners with concessions. By investigating the perspectives of educational psychologists, who play a pivotal role in learner support and intervention, this study aims to contribute to the body of knowledge on the benefits and challenges of digital technology in supporting learners with learning barriers. The findings could inform best practices and guide future implementations of technology in inclusive educational settings, ultimately striving to optimize learning outcomes for all learners.
Qualitative data that included information gathered through semi-structured interviews with school psychologists.
While technology offers innovative solutions for personalisation and inclusivity, its implementation requires careful planning, ongoing support, and a commitment to addressing equity and access barriers. The findings from this study inform educational policies and practices to better cater to the psychological needs of all learners in the digital age. Moving forward, further research is needed to explore effective strategies for leveraging technology to enhance learning outcomes and promote the holistic development of learners with concessions in diverse educational settings.
