Abstract
This study reiterates the need for robust discussions around the importance of a spiritual approach in leadership. Germane to this study is the connection between staff members, the connection with themselves, and the connection with a higher purpose. The Personal Professional Perspective, or the PPL perspective on connectedness, characterises a staff member’s connectedness through an application of the three pillars of self, others, and a higher power. Accordingly, being connected to the self allows staff members to engage in an awareness of their own limitations and strengths. Connectedness also allow for boundaries which enable staff to perform optimally, as well as to be operational. What is more, connectedness to others illustrates how human beings are akin at an energetic level. Thus, what affects one person will inadvertently affect another at a cellular level. Finally, being connected to a higher purpose relates to the extent one being is in touch with a Higher Power, of one’s choice, consequently being able to recognise an inner peace and voice of reality...
