Abstract
The study assesses the implementation of SDG 5 in South African public service. The qualitative research approach is utilised. The study is based on secondary data using literature and document reviews. Data analysis is done through conceptual and document analysis. The findings indicate that significant factors/reasons hamper the effective implementation of SDG 5 in South African public service. These factors incorporate the legislative, institutional, human resources, and technological, to state a few. The study also explores that women are underrepresented in leadership positions. Furthermore, recommendations are offered for improvement.
