Abstract
This minor dissertation addresses the injustice experienced by the victims of gross human rights violations on the basis of race and ethnicity. It analyses the impact of colonialism and slavery on institutionalised and systemic racial segregation and apartheid against people of colour, specifically black people, in the United States and South Africa respectively.
