Abstract
For a number of years, the South African economy has underperformed and one of the solutions is to stimulate entrepreneurial activity to allow individuals to create their own opportunities. Unfortunately, entrepreneurial activity seems to remain relatively low because opportunities are often not pursued due to a lack of funding. The Venture Capital (VC) industry is one of the main sources of capital available to entrepreneurs. VC companies look for lucrative investment opportunities that are both feasible and viable and operated by capable managers.
