Abstract
The UJ Centre for Social Entrepreneurship and Social
Economy (CSESE) and the UJ Library in partnership with
Bookstorm Publishers invite you to a discussion with
Kerryn Krige and Gus Silber
the authors of The Disruptors – Social Entrepreneurs
reinventing business and society. ABOUT THE BOOK: This book tells the stories of a new style of social entrepreneurs who are changing
the way business integrates with social settings. It focuses on two questions: Can business change the
world? Can the world change business?
Through these tales of daring, struggle, triumph, and innovation, you’ll learn the secrets of these social
entrepreneurs as they blend business principles with social change. From healthcare to mobile gaming, from
education to recycling, from dancing to gardening, these are the game-changers, the difference-makers, the
doers of good.
ABOUT THE AUTHORS: Kerryn Krige heads up the Network for Social Entrepreneurs at GIBS, which focuses
on achieving both social and economic change through social enterprise. Krige has worked in the social sector
since 2001 with numerous UK charities, and began her career as a journalist for business news channel Summit
TV. She holds a Masters in Development Studies.
