As part of the Author’s everyday work, plant performance and availability studies are carried out for new and existing plant designs across a number of industries. Industry sized Monte Carlo (MC) models are built to quantify the performance of the plant with improvements to the architecture of the plant being tested on a trial and error basis. Rather than doing this on a trial and error basis, the MC models could be expanded to identify the best plant design.
