Abstract
The environmental labels and declarations, defined by the standard ISO 14020, are voluntary instruments of the environmental management which can encourage the customer demand for more ecological products/services. Among them, the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), environmental label type III, is a document which contains objective, comparable and credible information about the environmental impact of a product/service. The EPD, assessing product/service life cycle, allows the evaluation of all environmental features and potential impacts. The aim of this study is to define the guidelines for the developing of the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) addressed to the agro-food chain products.
