Abstract
Abstract : This paper reported the effect of deposition thickness on the optoelectronic properties of NiO/TiO2 PN heterojunction solar cells with interest in performance improvement of the solar cells. Heterojunction surface contact and thickness are vital parameters that required optimisation for improved solar cells performance. The X-ray diffraction shows that the heterojunctions have a polycrystalline cubic structure with a preferred orientation along the (1 1 1) and (2 0 0) planes. The elemental properties show the presence of TiO2 and NiO. The optical band gap, refractive index and other optoelectronic properties were also investigated. This will expand the frontier of solar cells development both experimentally and theoretically.
