Abstract
Business Process Reengineering has become significant to orgainsations and businesses, this is because of its ability to relook at business processes to address the technological advancements, especially in the era of Industry 4.0. This paper investigates the potential challenges and opportunities of Business process reengineering in the era of Industry 4.0. This paper uses a systematic review approach to investigate the technological, organisational and strategic challenges and opportunities presented by t he adoption of BPR. The inclusion criteria of the literature includes a timeframe of 2019-2024, ensuring a focus on current and relevant literature while identifying the existing gap. It is the researcher's view that that future literature expands the strategic challenges and opportunities of BPR adoption in the era of Industry 4.0 as it was found that the adoption of BPR is impossible without IT.
